Advance Care Planning

Community

If you missed the Webinar don’t worry. You can still access the forms you need. Visit practicalbioethics.org to download and print Caring Conversations® workbook

Make sure your wishes are documented. This will be one less stressful situation for your family.

You’ve probably heard these three words – advance care planning – and perhaps wondered about the process. If so, do yourself and your loved ones a big favor by attending this webinar! You’ll not only learn what advance care planning is, but why it matters and how to go about it.

You’ll leave with forms for documenting wishes, values and preferences for your healthcare. You’ll learn ways to encourage friends and family members who may be reluctant to talk about these things. Most importantly, you’ll have the knowledge and resources to help you and your family improve their healthcare experience by having caring conversations before a health crisis happens.

Caring Conversations® is designed to guide you and your family through the process of Advance Care Planning.

Host, Director of Membership/Ethics Education

Linda served as Executive Vice President for the Center for Practical Bioethics from 2004-2020. Her mother died of complications of Alzheimer’s the month after she joined the Center. Since that time, she has expanded the Center’s work on advance care planning and care at the end of life. Linda’s sessions teach families about tools to help with Caring Conversations ahead of a health crisis that can change death and dying from something that tears families apart to a peaceful and meaningful end we all say we want.

Learning about the tools to have caring conversations can have a major impact on family relationships when a loved one dies. “No one wants their family not to gather for Thanksgiving anymore because they disagreed on what Mom would have wanted,” says Linda.
